I am excited to introduce you to August’s featured advertiser, Tania from Petit Pixel! Tania is a style and designed minded blogger from Australia and today I asked her a few questions. Her answers are great and so worth a read!
Tell me about yourself?
I’m Tania, I’m 30-something & I live in Bendigo with my husband Luke and our crazy little dog Riley that we adopted from the RSPCA just after we got married. I work in IT, and I love anything related to design/photography/food. I just started blogging at the end of May this year and I absolutely love it…both the challenges of keeping the posts coming…and the connections I’ve made online & in real life as a result of my blog and twitter. I take photos like crazy, I’m always looking for somewhere new to visit or something to learn about. I’m also hatching lots of ideas for a future Etsy store where I plan to sell original photography & personalized prints. I’m obsessed with washi tape, chocolate & collecting ballet flats!
What’s your favorite thing about living in Bendigo?
I love that Bendigo is the perfect size with a small town feel surrounded by bush and farmland, has its own Farmers Market and a sense of community…but at the same time it has amazing restaurants/artists, gorgeous boutique stores and a sense of heritage and tradition. Within a 45 minute drive in almost any direction you will come across smaller towns with big reputations in terms of food and the arts…and spa country. Then…we are only an hour and 20 minutes away from Melbourne, the state capital which has everything you could want in a big city. So I feel like we get the best of both worlds…and it only takes us 5 minutes to drive to work!
What’s one of the best things you’ve learned recently?
I’m constantly learning that imperfection & failure are part of being creative and I don’t have to produce something perfect and amazing first time…mistakes are part of the process. I’m also trying to encourage myself to only take my SLR photos 100% in manual mode…and learn how to use my macro lens. I’m taking Katrina Kennedy’s “Exposure” course right now and hoping it all comes together & I don’t have to rely on Auto anymore!
What’s one of your goals for the next year?
I would love to open that Etsy store…master the art of macaron making…travel to New York for our 10th wedding anniversary…and sample a real red velvet cake (I think red velvet cakes in Australia are different to the USA!) Nothing like setting a few goals.
Thank you Tania!
I like Bendigo reading this little description:)
Haven’t been here for too long, I discover your blog once again!
Hugs!
